Hallie Schmidt

Lyric Coloratura Soprano

American soprano Hallie Schmidt begins her 2026-2027 season singing Gilda in Rigoletto with Opera Memphis and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. As part of the Opera Memphis Handorf Company Artist Program, Hallie will also sing Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance. This season she also makes her debut with Opera Omaha singing Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos. Hallie will also be performing concert works with the Kirkland Chorale Society, The Larimer Chorale, and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Robert Moody. In the spring of 2027, Hallie will return to Pacific Northwest Opera to sing The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute.

Hallie began her 2025-2026 season with a return to Pacific Northwest Opera as Armida in Handel’s Rinaldo. In spring 2026, Hallie performed Jake Heggie’s one woman opera At the Statue of Venus for Opera Colorado’s Grand Gala, celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. She then reprised her favorite role of Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos at Pacific Northwest Opera. During the summer of 2025, Hallie was an Apprentice Artist at Des Moines Metro Opera, where she performed in The Flying Dutchman, The Cunning Little Vixen, and The Rake’s Progress. Hallie joined Central City Opera as an Apprentice Artist for their 2026 season, singing Mary/Friend 2 in The Ballad of Baby Doe.

Hallie was engaged for the 2024-2025 season as an Artist in Residence at Opera Colorado. There she covered Marie in The Daughter of the Regiment, as well as sang the student matinee, followed by Musetta (study cover) in La Bohème, and Inez in the spring concert production of Il Trovatore. Hallie also sang Berta in The Barber of Seville, and Gretel in Hansel and Gretel in Opera Colorado’s touring productions. In the 2023-2024 season, Hallie returned to Pacific Northwest Opera as Blondchen in Die Entfürung aus dem Serail, following her engagement as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro in November of 2023. Previously in 2023, Hallie made her debut with the Pacific Northwest Opera as Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier.

An avid lover of producing, Hallie also directed and led Olympia Opera Theatre’s first festival in August of 2025, where she is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder. This premiere festival included a solo recital, high school vocal competition, and two performances of The Old Maid and the Thief.
